Sorry for my radio silence! I’ve been recovering from an illness and navigating a hectic season—but hey, that’s a story for another day. Today, let’s talk about Pact.

Pact Inc. was an adventure—a whirlwind of fun, learning, and growth. It’s the kind of place where you make lifelong friends, and I’m grateful to say I’m still in touch with many of them today. As someone deeply rooted in the organizational development space, I often reflect on why Pact worked so well.

Now, don’t get me wrong—it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Sure, there were arguments and the occasional rough day. But somehow, we all saw each other as family and friends. The culture had this magnetic energy, a vibe that kept us connected even through challenges.

What really stood out at Pact was the emphasis on team building. From hiking up Mount Longonot to exploring Lake Nakuru National Park, we had quarterly team-building adventures that were nothing short of epic. And trust me, the whole “all work and no play” philosophy? Pact completely proved that true. These activities didn’t just break the monotony—they created bonds, fostered collaboration, and made us stronger as a team.

Pact also holds a special place in my heart because it was my first official job with the title "Grants." I was so passionate about becoming a grants “person,” and this was where that dream began to take shape. I loved the work, immersed myself in it, and learned so much along the way. Those experiences didn’t just set the foundation for my career in grants; they paved the way for my journey into organizational development and resource mobilization—the fields I’ve been thriving in over the last few years.

Looking back, Pact wasn’t just a job. It was a launchpad for my growth, a place where dreams started becoming reality, and where connections and memories were made for a lifetime.

Lessons Learned:

  1. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Collaborative environments thrive when there’s mutual respect, understanding, and shared goals. Pact taught me the value of seeing colleagues as more than coworkers—as a team and even a family.

  2. The Power of Play: Team-building activities aren’t just a nice-to-have; they’re essential for fostering trust, creativity, and resilience. Investing in these moments strengthens bonds that translate to better work dynamics.

  3. Follow Your Passion: Embracing my dream of working in grants showed me how fulfilling it is to align your career with your passions. This alignment continues to guide me as I evolve in my professional journey.

  4. Adaptability is Key: Not every day will be smooth sailing, but the ability to adapt, learn, and grow through challenges is what makes a workplace—and individuals—truly successful.

  5. Growth is Continuous: The lessons and skills I gained at Pact have continued to shape me, proving that every experience—big or small—contributes to personal and professional development.

Here’s to more adventures, more growth, and a fantastic 2025 ahead!
